Work
Case studies with the decisions, the trade-offs and the merged pull requests.
WalletConnect, owned since 2023
dApp connectivity across EVM and Solana, from the first Ethereum build in 2023 to the Reown migration and the signing-flow redesign.
EVM chain architecture, and Tron
Polygon, Base and Arbitrum one at a time, then a 251-file refactor that deleted more than it added. BNB Smart Chain landed in 103 files after it. Tron, built from scratch, is the non-EVM sibling.
Solana from scratch
There was no pattern in the codebase to follow. A new chain package in 133 files, then a rewrite onto Cake's own libraries a year later, then SPL tokens, Token-2022, NFTs and Jupiter swaps on top.
AnyPay, pay anything from any wallet
A dead-end error dialog became a flow that reads almost any payment request, finds a wallet that can pay it, switches to it or swaps, and asks which chain when the address cannot say. Then a redesign with 134 review comments, and a service layer a week later.
Trades and tokens, from Hive to SQLite
Two tables in a wider migration: a person's trade history and token lists, built up over years on their own phone, moved into SQLite on first launch, with every design choice bent around the fact that there is no second copy.
Integration tests for a wallet, with the Robot pattern
Six end-to-end flow suites driven by 26 screen robots, with one file that knows Flutter's test API. Three of the flows run on every pull request. The rest run on a phone or an emulator with one command.
Raptures and RapKids, two comics apps from the first commit
Four years on a comics app for Black American, African and Arab stories, then a second app for children opened as an empty repo and taken to both stores in nine months.
FlutterBytes, a Flutter conference in Lagos
Co-founded in 2022 and run every year since. Five editions, the last three with more than 500 developers in the room, and a keynote or talk from me at each of the last two.
Blazebrain, teaching Flutter live
Ten live sessions for Flutter developers across 2023 and 2024, on YouTube, X Spaces and Google Meet, from environment variables to Bloc architecture to animation, and one hangout that brought five Nigerian Flutter communities into one call.
Bonito Spa, running a physical business in Lagos
I founded and ran a spa in Lekki for about a year and a half. It is paused, not closed. The reasons are power, water and a road, and they are the story.
Supporting stories
Gigmile, two production Flutter apps for a mobility startup
Flutter Engineer, then Lead Mobile Engineer, at a Techstars '22 company. Two apps in production, and the release cadence and review standards that got them there.
WalletGroup, one seed for many wallets
One BIP39 seed backing a wallet on every chain that can share it, grouped in the list under a name you chose. Getting the group's identity right took three attempts.
Automatic node switching, shipped and then turned off
A wallet that moved you to a trusted node when yours stopped answering. It shipped, it was corrected three times, and it is behind a flag today. The honest version of the story is better than a win.
